The JFC was established in 1961, and it wasn't the 9th July, 1966, that the Jacana Pavillion was opened by the Mayor J.A. Culpin. Senior Premierships in 1967, 1980, and 2000. Played in competitions such as the Y.C.W., Northern Metropolitan Football League and the Preston & District Football League.The Club joined the Riddell District Football League in 1986 and became the Broadmeadows United Football Club in the early '90s. In 1997 the Club reverted back to the name of Jacana Football Club, and then in 2001 it joined the Essendon District Football League. After plenty of expressions of interest the Jacana Football Club Youth Girls team began in 2008, and tasted instant success defeating Lalor in claiming the 2008 Premiership. Then in 2009 they went back to back, again triumphing the 2009 season after comprehensively defeating Wallan. The Jacana Football Club also boasts one of the highest percentages of footballers that have been drafted to the VFL/AFL (See AFL Representativies). The Jacana Football Club is a Level 3 Accredited Good Sports Club. |
